Contract Manufacturing Quality Manager EU/UK

Location: Office-based in the Amsterdam or Enschede area, Netherlands, with 50–60% travel to contract manufacturers across the EU.

What you will do

• Lead qualification, onboarding, and periodic re-qualification of EU and UK contract manufacturers.
• Ensure partner sites meet company quality standards, food safety requirements, regulatory obligations, and Quality Agreement expectations.
• Review HACCP, GMP, allergen control, sanitation, traceability, complaints, specifications, process controls, deviations, and change management.
• Evaluate ingredients and finished products for shelf-life extensions, product releases, specifications, stability, sensory results, and microbiological performance.
• Lead quarterly business reviews, track quality metrics, and drive continuous improvement across the co-manufacturing network.
• Manage quality incidents, non-conformances, root-cause investigations, CAPA, audits, regulatory changes, supplier evaluations, and production trials in collaboration with R&D, Operations, Supply Chain, Regulatory, Procurement, and Strategic QA.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry, Engineering, or a related field; an advanced degree is preferred.
• At least 7 years of Quality Assurance experience in food manufacturing, including 3 or more years managing contract manufacturers or external suppliers.
• Strong knowledge of EU food safety regulations, HACCP, GMP, and third-party certification schemes such as BRCGS and IFS.
• Experience leading audits, investigations, and cross-functional quality initiatives.
• Strong communication, negotiation, relationship-building, operational discipline, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to influence without authority.
• Fluent English is required. Dutch fluency is highly preferred; German or French is a plus.

• Experience with Quick Service Restaurant systems and qualifications.
• Advanced degree in a relevant field.
• Fluency in Dutch, German, or French.
