Process Engineer (Quantum Hardware)

Location: On-site in Delft, Netherlands

Company

Develops high-performance quantum processors using VIO™ technology and is building a dedicated fabrication facility for quantum processor manufacturing.

What you will do

• Lead or co-lead Site Acceptance Testing, including IQ/OQ/PQ, for incoming process tools across at least two process modules.
• Transfer at least two process modules from R&D into the kilofab and optimize them for yield, throughput, repeatability, and process stability.
• Create and execute qualification plans, define process windows and acceptance criteria, and establish SPC and FDC monitoring.
• Run DOE studies, analyze qualification wafer data, perform root cause analysis, and resolve process issues.
• Manage process recipes, parameter data, traceability, consumables, and DOE records within the MES; participate in the Change Control Board.
• Document SOPs, qualification reports, OCAP foundations, and tool knowledge, and train technicians on tool operations and wafer-level metrology.

Requirements

• MSc or PhD in Physics, Materials Science, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
• At least 3 years of hands-on cleanroom process engineering experience in a semiconductor fab or advanced materials fabrication environment.
• Demonstrated experience with at least two process modules, such as PVD, CVD, ALD, dry or wet etching, evaporation, dicing, track, or laser/e-beam writing.
• Practical experience executing or supporting equipment qualification or SAT activities.
• Proficiency with JMP, Minitab, Python, or R for DOE and SPC analysis, plus strong technical documentation skills.
• Ability to work in a Class 100/ISO 5 or equivalent cleanroom environment.

Nice to have

• Experience with superconducting qubit fabrication, cryogenic device processing, or other quantum technology applications.
• Familiarity with cryogenic material constraints, including film stress and thermal cycling behavior.
