Principal Engineer, Audio System Validation Specialist (Automotive Audio)

Location: Hybrid office environment in Novi, Michigan, USA, with a minimum of 3 days per week in the office; up to 10% domestic and international travel.

Salary: $125,250–$183,700 annually, with other compensation potentially available depending on the position.

What you will do

• Define and evolve System Trust validation methodologies and technical standards.
• Lead complex, cross-domain investigations of DSP and system-level integrity issues.
• Evaluate architectural decisions for performance, scalability, and integrity risks.
• Design scalable regression protection strategies and automated validation frameworks.
• Interpret business and performance trade-offs while maintaining non-negotiable integrity standards.
• Mentor engineers and act as a technical authority during critical development and pre-release validation.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience with DSP algorithms, audio processing systems, and embedded performance constraints.
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Sound Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Signal Processing, or an equivalent field.
• Extensive experience diagnosing complex technical issues across software and system layers.
• Strong understanding of architectural trade-offs and scalability considerations.
• Demonstrated ability to lead technically complex problem-solving and influence cross-disciplinary teams.
• Willingness to work hybrid in Novi, Michigan, with at least 3 office days per week, travel up to 10%, and complete a background investigation and drug screen.

• Experience designing large-scale automated validation frameworks.
• Background in real-time embedded or automotive systems.
• Experience with cross-brand or platform-based product organizations.
• Exposure to psychoacoustic implications of system-level design decisions.
• Experience mentoring or serving as a technical lead on complex projects; a valid driver’s license.
