Staff Engineer, Cinema Technology (C++)

Salary: $170,600–$234,200 per year, plus bonus, benefits, and potential equity.

What you will do

• Design and maintain secure real-time software for imaging and audio products on mixed-architecture embedded platforms.
• Develop product security infrastructure covering manufacturing through release.
• Implement emerging DCI, SMPTE, and other industry standards.
• Collaborate with research teams to turn new technologies into maintainable cinema products.
• Provide technical guidance to engineers and deliver development projects on schedule.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience with real-time embedded or audio/video products using C/C++.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for general and technical contexts.
• Fluency in current LLM coding techniques, including understanding their risks and inefficiencies.
• Deep Linux experience, including custom driver and kernel patch development.
• A consistent record of innovation and creativity.

Nice to have

• Experience in digital cinema, professional audio, video, or advanced imaging.
• Experience with secure products and workflows.
• FPGA design and validation experience, including shipping VHDL or Verilog.
• Familiarity with common web technologies and deep Windows or Windows Server experience.
