Embedded Developer (Audio)

Location: Hybrid; the role requires reporting to Markham at least three times per week. Positions are listed in Austin, Texas; Markham, Ontario; and Warren, Michigan.

Salary: $115,000–$164,600 per year.

What you will do

• Design, develop, release, and maintain audio functionality for the GM infotainment system.
• Develop and deploy C++ modules for Android, QNX, and Linux audio middleware.
• Build Android framework components and Linux middleware for custom GM implementations.
• Analyze feature requirements, design test cases, prototype features, and support testing and refinement.
• Improve drivers, software stacks, and applications while working with large existing code bases and developing new code.
• Collaborate with distributed engineering teams using Scrum and Agile practices, and maintain clear software documentation.

Requirements

• 5+ years of hands-on C++ development experience with strong object-oriented programming, algorithms, and data structures knowledge.
• Experience with Android/AOSP components, frameworks, architecture, Linux, and embedded platform development.
• Experience with multithreaded environments, IPC communication, and testing embedded system firmware.
• Commercial development experience in C++, Java, and C, plus familiarity with Android development toolkits and test frameworks.
• Experience with Git, JIRA, Jenkins, Scrum/Agile development, and Scrum Master responsibilities.
