Embedded System Firmware Architect, Commercial Personal Systems

What you will do

• Lead the architecture and development of firmware for desktop and notebook PC platforms.
• Integrate platform sensors into scalable firmware designs and implement advanced thermal response and multi-domain control logic.
• Drive system-level enablement for platform features requiring coordinated firmware behavior.
• Collaborate with hardware and software teams, ODMs, third-party vendors, and partners to integrate and validate firmware components.
• Optimize firmware performance and efficiency, conduct code reviews, and maintain architecture documentation and development guidelines.
• Lead proof-of-concept projects and provide technical leadership and mentorship to firmware engineers.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, electrical engineering, or a related field.
• 8+ years of experience in firmware development and architecture, preferably in the PC industry.
• Strong proficiency in C and C++ and experience with embedded systems, BIOS, UEFI, and low-level hardware interactions.
• Knowledge of desktop and notebook PC architecture, USB, PCIe, I2C, PD protocols, and relevant industry standards.
• Experience with firmware security, including secure boot and firmware update mechanisms, as well as power management and system optimization.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, collaboration, and troubleshooting skills; familiarity with Agile methodologies and experience working with ODMs and third-party vendors.
