Senior Flight Dynamics Engineer (Space)

What you will do

• Define and review flight dynamics requirements and contribute to the architecture of flight dynamics systems.
• Develop mathematically intensive software for in-house flight dynamics modules and support the full development chain through testing and operational deployment.
• Plan, execute, and evaluate orbital and attitude manoeuvres, including rendezvous, docking, separation, inspection, and capture activities.
• Perform space traffic management activities, including conjunction warning assessment and collision avoidance manoeuvre planning.
• Support spacecraft operations, ground-segment concept-of-operations design, real-time mission operations, and anomaly resolution.
• Collaborate with contractors, GNC, operations engineering, and multidisciplinary teams; participate in technical reviews and mission-phase on-call rotations.

Requirements

• University degree in aeronautics, computer science, software engineering, mathematics, or a relevant science discipline.
• At least five years of commercial space flight dynamics experience.
• Excellent knowledge of orbital mechanics and flight dynamics.
• Experience with MATLAB or similar simulation software, mission analysis, and requirements definition.
• Fluent spoken and written English required.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Nice to have

• Security clearance, a relevant master’s degree or doctorate, and experience with flight dynamics operations or agile methodology.
• Experience with C++, Python, scripting, Linux, regression testing, and version control.
• Education or experience in guidance, navigation and control, image processing, object reconstruction, or flight dynamics design architecture.
