Senior Staff Data Scientist (AI)

Location: Hybrid, in-office 3 days per week at the headquarters in Santa Clara, California, United States

Salary: $125,600–$203,125 per year, with potential bonus and restricted stock units.

What you will do

• Own the full lifecycle of machine learning projects, from problem definition and feature engineering through model training, deployment, and monitoring.
• Build and productionize predictive models for customer churn, supply chain, finance forecasting, and other critical business areas.
• Characterize, evaluate, and fine-tune generative AI agents, including conversational systems for querying large datasets with natural language.
• Partner with marketing, sales, product, finance, and go-to-market stakeholders to turn business challenges into data science solutions.
• Present complex analytical findings through Tableau, Looker, or custom visualizations.
• Collaborate with data platform teams and business partners to define technical data requirements and monitor model performance.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of related experience, Master’s degree with 3+ years, or PhD in a quantitative field with 1+ years of experience.
• Strong foundation in statistics, probability theory, and common data science algorithms.
• Hands-on experience building and deploying machine learning models in production.
• Expert-level Python skills and experience with data science and machine learning libraries such as Scikit-learn, Pandas, PyTorch, TensorFlow, and XGBoost.
• Strong SQL skills for complex querying and data manipulation, plus experience creating dashboards in Tableau, Looker, or a similar platform.
• Ability to work autonomously, navigate ambiguity, and drive projects from concept to completion.

Nice to have

• Hands-on experience with generative AI, LLMs, LangChain, LlamaIndex, or the Hugging Face ecosystem.
• Experience evaluating and optimizing AI systems or agents.
• Expertise in causal inference, time-series analysis, or mix modeling.
