TL;DR
Senior Staff Data Scientist (AI): Building and deploying production machine learning models and optimizing AI agentic systems for business operations with an accent on predictive modeling, generative AI evaluation, and data storytelling. Focus on fine-tuning conversational agents, developing forecasting and churn models, and translating ambiguous business challenges into reliable data-driven solutions.
Location: Hybrid, in-office 3 days per week at the headquarters in Santa Clara, California, United States

What you will do
- Build, deploy, and manage the full lifecycle of machine learning models for customer churn, supply chain, and finance forecasting.
- Evaluate, characterize, and fine-tune generative AI agents and conversational systems for accuracy, efficiency, and reliability.
- Partner with marketing, sales, product, finance, and go-to-market stakeholders to identify AI and data science opportunities.
- Perform feature engineering, model selection, training, evaluation, deployment, and ongoing performance monitoring.
- Create dashboards and visualizations with Tableau, Looker, or custom code to communicate complex findings.
- Translate business goals into technical data requirements and actionable recommendations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of related experience, Master’s degree with 3+ years, or PhD in a quantitative field with 1+ years of experience.
- Strong knowledge of statistics, probability theory, and common data science algorithms.
- Hands-on experience building and deploying machine learning models in production.
- Expert Python programming skills and familiarity with Scikit-learn, Pandas, PyTorch or TensorFlow, and XGBoost.
- Strong SQL skills for complex querying and data manipulation.
- Experience developing dashboards in Tableau, Looker, or a similar data visualization platform.
Nice to have
- Experience with generative AI, LLMs, LangChain, LlamaIndex, or the Hugging Face ecosystem.
- Experience evaluating and optimizing AI systems or agents.
- Expertise in causal inference, time-series analysis, or mix modeling.
