Senior Data Scientist - Applied ML (AI)

Location: New York City office; hybrid work

Base wage: $166,000–$214,000 per year

What you will do

• Lead end-to-end machine learning and data science projects from data discovery and analysis through deployment and maintenance.
• Partner with Product and Engineering to identify and scope use cases in areas such as Risk & Insurance and Payments.
• Query structured and unstructured datasets with SQL and prototype solutions using classical machine learning, statistical methods, deep learning, and LLMs.
• Develop AI-assisted approaches, reusable data assets, code, tooling, and frameworks to expand data science capabilities.
• Build model monitoring and consumer-feedback systems for deployed models.
• Collaborate with Machine Learning Engineers on deployment infrastructure and the MLOps tooling roadmap, including technical and code reviews.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience as a data scientist or machine learning practitioner, with a record of delivering business impact and productionizing models.
• Strong expertise in predictive modeling, numerical algorithms, and statistical methods.
• Strong communication, data storytelling, business acumen, and product-strategy skills.
• Fluent SQL and proficiency in Python for research, development, and production-grade deployment code.
• Familiarity with cloud-based data stacks such as Snowflake and dbt.
• Curiosity about AI tools and emerging technologies, with experience applying them to improve analysis or expand data science impact.
