Senior Machine Learning Engineer, Public Sector

What you will do

• Own the end-to-end architecture, implementation, and evaluation of agent capabilities for mission-critical government applications.
• Define and implement new technical patterns for agent frameworks, retrieval pipelines, production APIs, memory systems, and context management.
• Deploy and maintain generative AI, large language models, computer vision, and reinforcement learning systems in production.
• Build evaluation benchmarks, LLM judges, verifiers, and scalable infrastructure to improve model and agent performance.
• Partner with product, research, government users, and subject-matter experts to shape high-impact initiatives and technical direction.
• Mentor engineers, review technical work, communicate tradeoffs, and represent machine learning across engineering and product organizations.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience building and deploying applied machine learning systems in production.
• Extensive production experience with generative AI, agentic AI, natural language processing, deep learning, deep reinforcement learning, or computer vision.
• Experience owning architectural decisions and shipping agentic systems with real production traffic and rigorous evaluation.
• Strong knowledge of algorithms, data structures, object-oriented programming, and Python.
• Experience with PyTorch or TensorFlow, plus mentoring or reviewing other engineers.
• Active security clearance required; ability to work within security and compliance constraints.

Nice to have

• Graduate degree in computer science, machine learning, or artificial intelligence.
• Experience with AWS or GCP and cloud-based machine learning deployments.
• Experience with classified, air-gapped, or IL5+ environments, geospatial intelligence, inference optimization, or fine-tuning.
• Familiarity with ML evaluation frameworks and agentic model design.
