Staff Data Scientist (AI)

Base salary: $185,500–$251,000 per year in San Diego

What you will do

• Design and deploy intelligent process automation solutions across Customer Success and related business units.
• Architect integrations between CRM systems, data pipelines, APIs, AI services, and AWS-based infrastructure.
• Build, train, validate, and deploy classical machine learning and LLM-based models, including fine-tuning, prompt engineering, and retrieval-augmented generation.
• Develop agentic AI systems and Python-based automation frameworks, scripts, and microservices.
• Implement Jenkins and AWS CI/CD pipelines for secure, scalable automation deployment.
• Partner with business leaders, product managers, and data engineers to define automation opportunities, metrics, and ROI.

Requirements

• Hands-on experience building, training, and deploying functional models using classical machine learning and LLM-based approaches.
• Strong Python programming experience.
• Experience with process automation, process mining, data pipelines, APIs, and cloud-native system integrations.
• Expertise building and fine-tuning LLMs and agentic AI systems beyond basic third-party API integration.
• Proficiency with AWS services, Jenkins, microservices, MSAAS architectures, event-driven automation, and data governance.
• Ability to design solutions that combine technical feasibility, operational impact, stakeholder communication, and automation ROI.

Nice to have

• Experience with JavaScript, Go, contact center, CRM, or customer service technologies.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; an advanced degree or MBA is preferred.
