Denials Specialist (Healthcare Revenue Cycle)

Salary: $18.65–$25.00 per hour, based on experience

What you will do

• Analyze claims, remittances, and denial letters to identify root causes and determine appropriate resolution steps.
• Contact insurance plans and triage denials based on revenue cycle terminology and processes.
• Assess whether appeals are necessary and prepare appeal materials, including corrected and resubmitted claims.
• Review medical records and gather additional information or documentation required for appeals.
• Coordinate with healthcare providers to obtain clarification and submit appeals on time.
• Draft and format appeal letters while meeting quality and productivity standards.

Requirements

• 1–3 years of relevant job experience, including approximately 2 years in denials or accounts receivable.
• Associate’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Experience in hospital operations, chart audit or review, and provider relations.
• Typing speed of at least 35 words per minute.
• Ability to analyze claims and revenue cycle documentation accurately.
• Openness to innovation, including using AI to improve processes and patient and client experiences.
