Patient Account Rep I

TL;DR

Patient Account Rep I (Medical Billing): Manage account follow-up and collections, including appeals and denial resolution with an accent on reviewing EOBs, payer responses, and ensuring accurate reimbursement. Location: Fully remote (Nashville, TN preferred, not required)

Compensation: $19-$22 hourly

What you will do

• Manage account follow-up and collections, including appeals and denial resolution
• Review EOBs and payer responses to ensure accurate reimbursement and identify trends
• Analyze accounts and determine appropriate next steps for timely resolution
• Communicate with payers to resolve claim issues and reprocess claims as needed
• Document all collection activities accurately while maintaining HIPAA compliance

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Minimum of 3 years of physician billing and collections experience
• Strong knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payer guidelines
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills
• Detail-oriented with ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team environment
