Rental Shop Helper (HVAC)

Location: Shorewood, Illinois, United States; on-site five days per week

Hourly base pay: $16.28–$48.83 per hour

What you will do

• Coordinate with team leaders, project managers, customers, and technicians to understand installation and repair requirements.
• Gather materials, forecast potential issues, and synchronize on-site work.
• Assist technicians who diagnose and repair HVAC equipment and systems at customer locations.
• Use software, handheld technology, hand tools, blueprints, and engineering specifications during service work.
• Maintain safety, security, and accountability for company assets.
• Work overtime, weekends, and occasional overnight stays when business needs require.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent, or a certificate from an accredited technical school.
• Typically 0–2 years of HVAC experience; technical school or formal training is preferred.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and handheld computers such as smartphones or iPads.
• Valid driver’s license held for at least 12 months with no major or frequent traffic violations.
• Ability to use ladders, access rooftops up to 50 feet or higher occasionally, work in confined spaces, and lift or move equipment weighing more than 40 pounds occasionally.
• Ability to wear required personal protective equipment and work safely around heights, electrical hazards, moving mechanical parts, noise, and variable weather.

Nice to have

• EPA certification, such as HVAC Journeyman, Boiler Operator, or Gas Installer certification.
