Mobile Operating Engineer (HVAC)

Location: Mobile role based out of Nashville, Tennessee, USA, with regular travel between assigned properties

Salary: $29.75–$35.00 per hour

What you will do

• Inspect, operate, maintain, and repair HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems across assigned commercial properties.
• Service chillers, DX units, pumps, rooftop units, split systems, fan coil units, VAVs, boilers, compressors, water systems, and related equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance, including filter changes, coil cleaning, condenser flushing, lubrication, belt inspection, bearing replacement, and equipment alignment.
• Monitor energy management systems and adjust mechanical, pneumatic, steam, electrical, and control equipment.
• Inspect emergency electrical equipment, generators, pumps, exit signs, emergency lighting, fire and life safety systems, and building access routes.
• Respond to equipment failures, fires, evacuations, customer concerns, and other emergencies; document activities and report to the supervisor.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of related experience operating HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems in commercial properties.
• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Appropriate trade licenses or permits where required, such as journeyman or master electrician, refrigeration, boiler, or steam operator licenses.
• Universal Technician certification for CFCs may be required depending on local licensing requirements.
• Valid driver’s license and good driving record.
• Basic skills in Outlook, Excel, and Word; ability to lift at least 50 pounds, climb, stoop, crouch, and work outdoors between properties in varying weather.

Nice to have

• Completion of an apprenticeship program or trade school.
• Experience with energy management systems, techniques, and operations.
