Maintenance Technician – HVAC

Location: Onsite in Pueblo, Colorado, United States

Salary: $34.00–$41.00 per hour

What you will do

• Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair rooftop units, split systems, chillers, boilers, air handlers, VAV systems, exhaust fans, and related controls.
• Perform preventive maintenance according to manufacturer specifications and facility schedules.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and refrigerant-related faults using manifold gauges, multimeters, and combustion analyzers.
• Handle, recover, and recharge refrigerants while maintaining logs and meeting environmental requirements.
• Inspect and service ductwork, coils, filters, drains, belts, and other HVAC components.
• Coordinate with facilities leadership, contractors, and project managers on maintenance schedules, capital projects, and equipment commissioning; document work in the CMMS.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED and 3+ years of hands-on commercial or industrial HVAC maintenance, repair, and installation experience.
• Ability to troubleshoot and repair rooftop units, split systems, chilled water systems, and building automation controls.
• Working knowledge of ASHRAE, OSHA, and local mechanical codes.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites as required.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in confined spaces, at heights, on rooftops, ladders, and scaffolding.
• Must meet U.S. export-control eligibility requirements under ITAR, including U.S. citizenship, lawful permanent residence, protected-individual status, or eligibility to obtain the required authorizations.

Nice to have

• State or journeyman HVAC license or equivalent trade certification.
• EPA Section 608 Universal Certification, or Type I/II certification at minimum.
• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
• Experience with BAS/BMS, DDC controls, or Bekhoff BAS.
• Experience in defense, aerospace, manufacturing, or government facilities, or prior military technical service.
