Advanced Software Engineer (Quantum-HPC)

Location: On-site in Broomfield, Colorado, United States. U.S. Person status is required; candidates must be U.S. citizens, permanent residents or green card holders, or workers granted asylum or refugee status. Due to national security requirements, Chinese or Russian nationals must also be U.S. citizens.

Salary: $132,000–$165,000 annually.

What you will do

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable orchestration software for hybrid quantum-classical workflows.
• Build interfaces between HPC job schedulers such as Slurm and quantum runtimes.
• Optimize data movement and job scheduling across quantum and classical resources.
• Integrate QPU hardware control systems and SDKs into production pipelines.
• Ensure high availability, monitoring, and debugging of distributed hybrid systems.
• Write maintainable software in an R&D and rapid-prototyping environment.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or higher.
• 5+ years of professional software development experience.
• 5+ years of experience with Python, Rust, and/or C++.
• U.S. Person status and compliance with national security requirements are mandatory.
• Ability to solve complex problems and communicate technical approaches clearly.

Nice to have

• Master's or PhD in Computer Science.
• Experience developing compiled Python extensions.
• Knowledge of HPC software such as Slurm or PBS.
• Experience collaborating with external scientific and technical partners.
• Rust contributions to open-source and commercial projects.
