Software Engineer (Quantum Computing)

Location: San Francisco or Los Angeles, United States; hybrid workplace

Salary: $130,000–$170,000 annual base salary, with potential discretionary bonuses, equity, and other compensation.

What you will do

• Design, build, and maintain scalable backend services in Python and C++.
• Develop APIs and services supporting compiler infrastructure and quantum runtime systems.
• Build reliable distributed and cloud-native services.
• Improve performance, reliability, and observability across backend components.
• Collaborate with compiler engineers, researchers, Product, and Design teams to deliver platform capabilities.
• Contribute to compiler infrastructure and develop expertise in compiler engineering and quantum computing.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Strong Python programming skills.
• Experience with modern C++.
• Experience building backend systems or distributed services.
• Experience designing APIs with REST, gRPC, or GraphQL.
• Ability to work in a hybrid arrangement in San Francisco or Los Angeles.

Nice to have

• Experience building high-performance backend systems, asynchronous applications, or concurrent systems.
• Experience with FastAPI, Flask, or Django.
• Familiarity with compiler concepts, programming language implementation, LLVM, or MLIR.
• Interest in quantum computing or scientific software.
• Experience with Rust, Go, or other systems programming languages.
