Director, Manufacturing Operations (AI)

Location: San Jose, United States. Hybrid schedule with office work generally Monday through Thursday and flexible remote work on Fridays; the role requires 15–20% international travel and meaningful onsite work with suppliers in Asia.

Salary: $350,000–$400,000 annual base salary for California, plus health insurance, equity awards, life insurance, disability benefits, parental leave, wellness benefits, and paid time off.

What you will do

• Lead program planning, supplier execution, and product launches from NPI through sustaining.
• Integrate Program Management, Technical Operations, and Quality into a unified operating model.
• Drive production readiness, line bring-up, ramp-to-volume, capacity planning, and supplier recovery.
• Oversee NPI validation, reliability testing, technical reviews, qualification checklists, and corrective actions.
• Identify cost-down opportunities, manage operational budgets, and lead process improvements.
• Track yield, scrap, utilization, production performance, and post-launch quality issues while building closed-loop improvement processes.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in operations, technical program management, or manufacturing leadership with direct product-launch accountability.
• Deep knowledge of FATP, SMT, NPI validation, reliability testing, yield analysis, and supplier capacity planning.
• Experience driving supplier improvements in yield, cost, and quality, plus knowledge of DFx, alternate sourcing, automation, and packaging optimization.
• Strong executive communication, leadership, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Bachelor’s degree required; an advanced degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, or Business is preferred.
• Advanced, demonstrable experience with generative AI tools or workflows applied to operations.
