Head of Manufacturing (Nuclear)

Location: Remote, with travel to manufacturing sites and headquarters in Santa Clara, CA at least approximately 25% of the time and twice per quarter based on business or team needs. Applicants must meet the definition of a U.S. person under applicable export-control laws.

Salary: $210,000–$2,900,000 annually

What you will do

• Develop and execute manufacturing strategies aligned with business priorities and KPIs for quality, delivery, cost, and safety.
• Lead process-improvement initiatives, root-cause analysis, and productivity improvements across manufacturing and vendor sites.
• Promote manufacturing best practices, nuclear protocols, radiation protection, material handling, and regulatory compliance.
• Coach design and manufacturing teams, production managers, and cross-functional stakeholders in problem-solving, autonomous operations, and change management.
• Partner with senior leadership to set improvement targets, track results, and report cost savings, revenue impact, and organizational change.
• Manage portfolios, budgets, timelines, knowledge-transfer platforms, and training programs for global teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management, or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience in design, prototyping, and manufacturing operations, preferably in nuclear, energy, or another highly regulated industry.
• At least 3 years of experience in a leadership or operational-excellence role.
• Experience leading teams, coaching cross-functional groups, and driving cultural change.
• Proficiency with CAD design tools and strong communication, stakeholder-management, facilitation, and presentation skills.
• Willingness to travel for site visits, audits, and team collaboration.
