Fabric Technologist

Location: Solihull, England, United Kingdom; minimum expectation of four days per week onsite at hirify.global HQ

What you will do

• Develop and industrialise woven fabrics, knitted fabrics, and trims/components across multiple product categories.
• Deliver material development activities in line with seasonal calendar deadlines.
• Collaborate with Product Development, Design, Colour, and Sourcing teams to align performance, aesthetic, and production requirements.
• Work with mills and suppliers to develop innovative, high-performance, and sustainable materials from concept through industrialisation.
• Support laboratory testing, compliance assessments, supplier performance reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Maintain technical documentation and material libraries while identifying opportunities to improve quality, sustainability, and cost efficiency.

Requirements

• At least three years of experience in materials development.
• Technical knowledge of fabric and material technology, including spinning, knitting, weaving, dyeing, finishing, washing, and trim/component development.
• Experience developing and commercialising woven fabrics, knitted fabrics, and/or trims/components in an apparel, sportswear, or fashion environment.
• Strong knowledge of laboratory testing and commercial material testing standards.
• Experience working with suppliers and mills throughout the material development lifecycle.
• Ability to work onsite at hirify.global HQ at least four days per week.
