Legal Counsel, Privacy & Product

What you will do

• Lead data privacy strategy and compliance efforts, including CCPA, GDPR, privacy notices, data practices, privacy impact assessments, and incident response protocols.
• Advise Product, Engineering, and Design throughout the product lifecycle on product features, consent workflows, data collection, user agreements, and regulatory requirements.
• Guide Marketing on consumer protection, advertising, endorsements, promotions, CAN-SPAM, TCPA, FTC guidance, and other customer-facing legal requirements.
• Draft, review, and negotiate customer, vendor, data processing, NDA, marketing, technology, and strategic partnership agreements.
• Build legal operations infrastructure, including templates, playbooks, contract management, intake, knowledge management, workflows, automation, and internal processes.
• Provide practical guidance on corporate transactions, employment, intellectual property, trademarks, disputes, and other legal matters while using AI and legal technology to scale legal services.

Requirements

• JD from an accredited law school and active bar membership in good standing in at least one U.S. jurisdiction, or eligibility to register as in-house counsel where required.
• 5+ years of relevant legal experience, including meaningful in-house experience, ideally at a high-growth technology company.
• Strong experience in data privacy and product counseling.
• Working experience with marketing and consumer protection matters and commercial contracts.
• Strong legal judgment and ability to translate complex legal requirements into practical business guidance.
• Experience prioritizing and taking ownership in resource-constrained or fast-moving environments.

Nice to have

• CIPP/US, CIPP/E, or another privacy certification.
• Experience building legal processes, templates, playbooks, contract management systems, or legal operations infrastructure.
• Experience with AI-assisted legal tools and automation of repetitive work.
