Director Platform/Backend Engineering (Cybersecurity)

What you will do

• Lead the definition, architecture, implementation, and delivery of backend and API platforms.
• Build and manage cross-functional engineering teams delivering distributed applications.
• Establish backend engineering processes, best practices, and mechanisms that improve developer productivity.
• Set the technical vision for backend product teams and own end-to-end delivery plans.
• Design scalable, performant, and highly secure architectures for current and future product needs.
• Mentor Principal and Senior engineers while collaborating with product, data engineering, frontend, DevOps, customers, vendors, auditors, and regulators.

Requirements

• PhD, master’s, or bachelor’s degree in computer science.
• 12+ years of software development experience, including at least 5 years focused on frameworks or platform development.
• 5+ years managing development teams across different geographies on complex, customer-facing, data-driven applications.
• 5+ years designing and developing complex distributed systems and frameworks.
• 5+ years of programming experience in at least one language such as Java, C++, Go, Rust, or Python.
• Strong experience with architecture, design patterns, reliability, scaling, product roadmaps, stakeholder communication, and team mentoring.
