Senior Software Development Manager (Java)

Location: Bengaluru, India. Hybrid, onsite, and remote working models are stated; the hybrid model requires working at least 3 days per week in the office.

What you will do

• Lead, hire, and develop a high-performing backend engineering team within the Supply Chain Management & Automation organization.
• Lead development of systems that automate procurement and inventory decisions across millions of SKUs and thousands of suppliers.
• Drive delivery of ordering, inventory, and procurement initiatives while managing timelines and cross-team dependencies.
• Own the technical design and architecture of SKU management, ordering pipelines, and supplier workflows.
• Guide distributed, high-scale systems using microservices, event-driven architecture, batch processing, and stream processing.
• Partner with product and business teams, maintain engineering excellence, and contribute hands-on to critical technical challenges.

Requirements

• 10–13 years of software engineering experience, including 3+ years in engineering management.
• Strong hands-on experience with Java backend development and distributed microservices.
• Experience designing and operating large-scale, data-intensive systems using batch and stream processing technologies such as Spark, Kafka, or Airflow.
• Deep understanding of scalability, fault tolerance, data consistency, performance optimization, and distributed system design.
• Experience with high-volume datasets and complex business or decision logic, plus familiarity with data warehouses, relational and NoSQL databases, and caching layers.
• Ability to drive end-to-end technical execution while remaining hands-on in critical areas.

Nice to have

• Experience in supply chain, logistics, procurement, inventory systems, or SKU management.
• Experience scaling platforms in high-growth, fast-paced environments with complex systems.
• Experience with distributed systems, event-driven architecture, microservices, Spark, Kafka, or Airflow.
• Ability to operate effectively in lean teams with high ownership and impact.
