Optics Fabricator - 3rd Shift (Precision Optics)

Location: Irvine, California, United States; onsite, 3rd shift

Hourly pay: $21.50–$25.50 USD

What you will do

• Operate multiple polishing and generating machines to process optical materials, including fused silica and CaF2.
• Read routers and engineering drawings to understand part specifications and manufacturing processes.
• Test optical parts using interferometers, calipers, micrometers, and other measurement equipment.
• Troubleshoot equipment and adjust machine settings to produce conforming parts.
• Inspect surfaces for digs and scratches and perform machine maintenance.
• Collaborate with Production, Engineering, Planning, and other teams while reporting to the Manufacturing Supervisor.

Requirements

• High school completion, vocational training, or equivalent preferred.
• Basic computer skills and literacy.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively.
• Related experience sizing, grinding, or polishing optical materials using conventional or CNC methods is preferred.
• Applicants may need to be U.S. persons for positions involving controlled goods or technologies under ITAR or EAR.
