Machinist IV - 2nd Shift

Location: Onsite in Orrville, Ohio, 2nd shift

Salary: $26.00–$32.00 per hour, plus a 10% second-shift differential

What you will do

• Set up and operate manual and CNC-controlled machines, including loading fixtures and parts, presetting cutting tools, dialing in fixtures, and adjusting machine offsets.
• Perform machining operations independently and operate multiple machines or other shop equipment with minimal supervision.
• Troubleshoot setup and production issues, adjust machines and tooling, and implement cost-effective corrective solutions.
• Inspect parts using precision measurement equipment, document discrepancies, and complete required paperwork.
• Read blueprints, sketch sheets, and production schedules while applying machine-shop practices and shop math.
• Coordinate with other shifts, Production Engineering, Quality, and supervision; operate an overhead crane and train employees when assigned.

Requirements

• At least five years of experience working as a machinist in a primary role.
• Experience operating hand drills, back spot facers, parts cleaners, micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, bore gages, air gages, precision pins, height gages, and hand tools.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, sketch sheets, and schedule requirements.
• Understanding of machine-shop practices, terminology, and basic shop math, including decimal fractions, ratios, rates, percentages, and bar graphs.
• Ability to understand and apply verbal, written, and computer instructions or training in English.
• High school diploma or GED preferred; ability to meet production deadlines and follow safety and company procedures.
