Principal Mobile Engineer (AI)

Location: Structured hybrid in Los Angeles, California, with at least three days per week in the office; candidates must currently reside in West Los Angeles, CA.

Salary: $149,000–$214,300 per year

What you will do

• Lead the architecture and development of native iOS applications using Swift and SwiftUI.
• Provide technical direction for Android development and maintain consistency across iOS and Android platforms.
• Define mobile engineering standards, reusable components, security practices, and scalable architecture.
• Implement on-device and cloud-based ML capabilities for personalization, automation, and predictive insights.
• Improve mobile CI/CD pipelines, crash analytics, performance monitoring, observability, and Datadog dashboards.
• Collaborate with Product, Design, Backend, Data, AI, and QA teams while mentoring mobile engineers.

Requirements

• 10+ years of mobile development experience, including 3+ years in a technical leadership role focused on iOS.
• Expert proficiency in Swift, SwiftUI, Combine, and UIKit; working knowledge of Kotlin and Android architecture components.
• Experience with Azure DevOps, Git, Fastlane, Firebase, Xcode, Android Studio, Jira, Confluence, and Figma.
• Knowledge of cloud-connected mobile architecture, RESTful APIs, OAuth2, mobile security, WCAG, and ARIA accessibility standards.
• Experience with automated and unit testing, TDD, CI/CD, app-store deployment, mobile analytics, crash reporting, and user behavior tracking.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future visa sponsorship and must meet the West Los Angeles location requirement.

Nice to have

• Experience in fintech or consumer-facing mobile platforms.
• Familiarity with mobile payments, identity verification, and push notification systems.
• Contributions to open-source mobile libraries or technical publications.
