Senior Manufacturing Technology (MT) Automation Project Engineer

Location: Onsite in Newark, Delaware, with periodic travel of less than 15% to global manufacturing sites and vendor locations

What you will do

• Lead complex automation capital projects from concept through startup.
• Develop project Statements of Work with engineering teams and define equipment and system requirements with operations, process, and quality stakeholders.
• Integrate robotics, vision inspection, web-handling, contamination control, PLC-based controls, and other multidisciplinary systems.
• Coordinate equipment installation, FAT/SAT, commissioning, qualification, validation, and startup activities.
• Act as the site interface for global automation teams and support design reviews and implementation alignment.
• Lead Management of Change, risk assessment, change qualification, and validation processes while ensuring machine safety, EHS, quality, regulatory, and customer requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, or Automation Engineering.
• At least 7 years of experience in automation, equipment engineering, or capital project execution in manufacturing.
• Experience leading complex automation system integration and deployment.
• Strong experience with mechanical systems, PLC-based controls such as Allen-Bradley, Siemens, and Mitsubishi, and robotics including ABB and KUKA.
• Experience with Management of Change, structured change review, equipment qualification, validation, and customer-sensitive implementations.
• Ability to work onsite in Newark, Delaware and travel periodically to manufacturing sites and vendor locations.

Nice to have

• Experience with robotic pick-and-place systems, machine vision systems such as Cognex and Keyence, and web-handling or roll-to-roll manufacturing systems.
• Experience integrating robotics, vision, and custom equipment into automated production cells.
• Experience working in a leveraged or global engineering model and in semiconductor, advanced materials, or high-precision manufacturing.
• Experience with SolidWorks and AutoCAD or other electrical design software.
