Control Systems Engineer – Manufacturing & Automation

Location: Denver, Colorado; full-time onsite at the headquarters. Candidates must be U.S. citizens or nationals, current U.S. permanent residents, or lawfully admitted refugees or asylees.

Salary: $130,000–$160,000 per year.

What you will do

• Design, develop, commission, and hand off PLC-based control systems for process equipment, manufacturing cells, motion control, and building automation.
• Stand up greenfield and brownfield manufacturing lines, integrate equipment and subsystems, and support factory acceptance testing.
• Program and debug PLC software using IEC 61131-3 languages, with a focus on Structured Text, modular code, and object-oriented programming.
• Integrate industrial robots, sensors, actuators, servo drives, VFDs, distributed I/O, HMIs, fieldbus networks, and machine safety systems.
• Interface machine controls with SCADA, MES, and data historians while troubleshooting equipment to improve throughput, yield, uptime, and OEE.
• Collaborate with engineering, quality, operations, machine builders, integrators, and suppliers, and create production documentation and training materials.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related technical discipline.
• At least 3 years of hands-on experience developing and commissioning control systems in manufacturing or industrial automation.
• Experience with manufacturing PLC platforms such as Beckhoff, Siemens, Rockwell, or equivalent, and demonstrated experience supporting integrated production or assembly lines.
• Required: proficiency with EtherCAT and industrial communication protocols.
• Experience with industrial electrical systems, control panels, sensors, actuators, drives, distributed I/O, and applicable standards including NFPA 79, NEC, and UL 508A.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States as a citizen or national, permanent resident, refugee, or asylee; the role requires hands-on onsite work in Denver.

Nice to have

• Beckhoff TwinCAT, EtherCAT configuration, and distributed motion control experience.
• Industrial robotics experience with FANUC, ABB, KUKA, or Universal Robots.
• Functional safety, safety PLCs, safety I/O, safe motion, or machine vision experience.
• SCADA platforms such as Ignition, production data collection, and high-volume manufacturing experience.
• Greenfield manufacturing startup, rapid scale-up, version control, code standards, or structured documentation experience.
