Associate Counsel (Digital Health)

What you will do

• Draft, review, and negotiate commercial and clinical agreements, including licensing, collaboration, research, and vendor contracts.
• Manage contract redlines, coordinate internal stakeholders, and align agreements with regulatory, privacy, market access, and sales requirements.
• Advise on healthcare compliance, product claims, advertising, and data privacy laws.
• Help build and operationalize the privacy program through policies, assessments, vendor diligence, and incident response.
• Answer day-to-day legal questions and translate complex legal requirements into practical business guidance.
• Develop scalable legal workflows, contract templates, policies, and procedures.

Requirements

• J.D. from an accredited U.S. law school.
• Active membership in good standing with at least one U.S. state bar; California, Massachusetts, or Delaware preferred.
• 3–5 years of relevant legal experience, ideally combining law firm and in-house work in healthcare, digital health, or life sciences.
• Experience with commercial contracts and healthcare regulatory frameworks, including FDA regulations for software-based medical devices, HIPAA, and fraud and abuse laws.
• Knowledge of data privacy and security laws, including HIPAA, GDPR, CCPA, and U.S. state privacy laws, with experience operationalizing privacy compliance programs.
• Strong communication, organization, judgment, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Nice to have

• CIPP/US, CIPP/E, or a similar privacy certification.
• Admission to the California, Massachusetts, or Delaware bar.
