Senior Engineer Seating (Automotive Interiors)

What you will do

• Develop and release interior components and subsystems, including seating, instrument panels, moldings, and interior lighting, into production.
• Collaborate with attribute leads, engineering teams, manufacturing, engineering partners, suppliers, and other stakeholders.
• Use CATIA V5/V6 for packaging, integration, and component detailing while directing CAD design personnel.
• Support source selection, component specification, and timely delivery for vehicle build activities.
• Execute quality and robustness activities such as DFMEA and DVP&R.
• Support prototype and production builds by ensuring fit and function and resolving engineering issues.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
• At least 5 years of automotive engineering experience involving the design and release of interior systems.
• Experience with CAD design tools and production drawing release processes.
• Strong communication, organization, interpersonal, creative-thinking, and critical-thinking skills.
• Ability to work autonomously and communicate effectively with stakeholders during rapid development cycles.

Nice to have

• Experience working with industrial design on concept feasibility.
• Experience delivering automotive components from concept through launch.
• Experience working with experimental hardware and fast-paced development programs.
