DRE: Power Modules / Mechatronics - Seating Systems

Location: Hybrid in Warren, Michigan; on-site at the Warren Tech Center at least three days per week. Travel is required for less than 25% of the role. This position is not eligible for relocation assistance.

What you will do

• Engineer technical solutions for electric power modules, LIN devices, and extenders used in lumbar, 10-way adjustment, massage, and comfort seating functions.
• Lead product development, release activities, validation, and advanced technical projects for seating power components and software-defined vehicle hardware.
• Develop and evaluate component, subsystem, and system designs, including analysis, testing, packaging, and interface documentation.
• Coordinate suppliers and global seat engineering centers, managing timing, deliverables, issue resolution, and part delivery.
• Use NeoVI tools, CAE analysis, DFMEAs, and DRBFMs to investigate root causes and deliver robust, defect-free components.
• Support pre-production builds, assembly plant launches, warranty investigations, production and service releases, and continuous improvement of specifications and best practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering; a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering is required, and a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering is preferred.
• At least 5 years of relevant electric power experience and at least 3 years of automotive industry experience.
• Strong understanding of hardware and software design, failure modes, electromechanical modules, power electronic circuitry, and control systems.
• Ability to read system engineering schematics and understand electronic and electrical functionality.
• Knowledge of vehicle serial data communications, including CAN, GMLAN, and LIN.
• Immigration-related sponsorship is not available, including H-1B, OPT, STEM OPT, CPT, TN, J-1, or other company-supported work authorization. The role also requires the ability to legally operate a motor vehicle regularly.
