Axle Senior Design Engineer (Mechanical Engineering)

TL;DR

Axle Senior Design Engineer (Mechanical Engineering): Leading the end-to-end design and technical delivery of axles and drivetrain components with an accent on new product introduction (NPI), cost optimization, and quality improvement. Focus on 3D modeling, structural and fatigue analysis, and driving engineering activities like DFMEA and DVP&R.

Location: Onsite in Qingzhou, Shandong, China (working onsite five days a week)

What you will do

• Lead the design, development, and validation of axles and drivetrain components.
• Translate system requirements into manufacturable and verifiable design solutions for mass production.
• Perform 3D modeling, structural/fatigue analysis, and manage 2D drawing releases.
• Lead NPI, cost reduction (VA/VE), and quality improvement projects.
• Drive critical engineering activities including DFMEA, DVP&R, and failure analysis.
• Collaborate with purchasing and suppliers to support APQP, PPAP, and production launch.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or above in Mechanical Engineering, Vehicle Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven design and development experience in axles or drivetrain systems.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD tools (specifically Creo) and engineering analysis tools.
• Familiarity with DFMEA, DVP&R, and design validation processes.
• Ability to read and write engineering English.

Nice to have

• Experience in heavy machinery, construction equipment, or automotive drivetrain systems.
• Expertise in the design of gears, shafts, housings, and cast/forged parts.
• Advanced experience in FEA, fatigue life, and failure analysis.
• Experience with global projects or multi-plant collaboration.
• Proven technical leadership as a project lead.
