Engineering Lead (TypeScript/Node.js)

Location: Paris, France; hybrid work with remote Fridays

What you will do

• Lead the technical direction and architecture for the squad's domain.
• Drive design reviews, coding standards, and engineering excellence.
• Own delivery of complex technical initiatives with cross-team dependencies.
• Build, scale, and operate Node.js/TypeScript backend services on AWS and EKS.
• Define infrastructure, reliability, observability, and SRE strategies.
• Partner with Product and Data on technical roadmaps while mentoring and developing engineers.

Requirements

• 7+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• 2+ years of formal or informal engineering team leadership experience.
• Expert-level TypeScript and Node.js proficiency.
• Experience delivering large technical projects and managing cross-team dependencies.
• Strong communication, stakeholder management, and engineering coaching skills.
• Ability to balance delivery speed with long-term technical health.

Nice to have

• Advanced PostgreSQL schema design, performance tuning, and migrations.
• Experience with Vue.js or frontend architecture decisions.
• AWS infrastructure including EKS, Lambda, RDS/Aurora, SQS/SNS, CloudFront, and ALB.
• Infrastructure as code with Terraform, CDK, or Helm at scale.
• Observability and SRE practices, including SLOs, error budgets, and on-call management.
• Platform engineering, developer experience, or hyper-growth and gaming product experience.
