Antenna Engineer (RF)

Salary: $140,000–$170,000 per year

What you will do

• Evaluate antenna requirements, technical feasibility, schedule risks, cost targets, and manufacturability during product planning.
• Design multi-radio antenna architectures for Wi-Fi, cellular, Bluetooth, Zigbee, DECT, UWB, and NFC products.
• Guide antenna placement, ground clearance, keep-out zones, matching circuit layouts, and enclosure impact analysis with hardware and mechanical teams.
• Lead antenna simulation, passive characterization, active tuning, system integration, validation, and RF performance debugging.
• Support FCC, SAR, and other wireless certification activities, as well as antenna manufacturing and production ramp.
• Create design, simulation, test, and routing documentation; mentor early-career engineers and contribute to team standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in electromagnetic field and microwave technology, RF engineering, or a related field.
• 3–7 years of antenna design and development experience for electronic products.
• Hands-on antenna development experience for consumer wireless electronics such as routers, smartphones, IoT devices, or CPE.
• Strong knowledge of RF and microwave engineering, electromagnetics, microwave theory, and antenna principles.
• Ability to independently deliver antenna concept design, simulation, optimization, tuning, and validation.
• Hands-on experience with RF laboratory instruments, especially network analyzers and anechoic chamber measurements.

Nice to have

• Experience improving TCP/UDP system throughput from an antenna or RF perspective.
• Experience with advanced antenna technologies such as new materials, 3D printing, or reconfigurable antennas.
• Experience working with ODM/JDM partners, certification and RF laboratories, antenna vendors, and component suppliers.
