TL;DR
Lead RF Engineer (GNSS): Designing, implementing, testing, and optimizing RF systems for a next-generation GNSS satellite infrastructure with an accent on spacecraft payload electronics, ground monitoring systems, and high-precision PNT communications. Focus on RF PCB and antenna design, L-band/S-band/C-band circuits, RF test calibration, and leading development from concept through delivered product.

Location: On-site in Burlingame, California, United States. Travel may be required for off-site testing events. Applicants must be U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents, or other protected individuals under 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3).

Salary: $170,000–$200,000 per year, plus equity.

What you will do

  • Design, implement, test, and optimize RF systems for a next-generation GNSS system.
  • Develop RF solutions spanning spacecraft payload electronics and ground monitoring systems.
  • Tune RF amplifiers and circuits across L-band, S-band, and C-band frequencies.
  • Set up and calibrate RF tests, analyze test data, and assess performance against design requirements.
  • Lead project development schedules from concept through delivered product.
  • Lead direct reports or small engineering teams and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and external partners.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of RF engineering experience.
  • Understanding of electromagnetic principles, RF communications metrics, and GNSS systems.
  • Experience with RF PCB and/or antenna design, passive or active RF subsystems, and RF amplifier and circuit tuning.
  • Ability to interpret PCBA schematics and layout drawings; familiarity with Altium, Keysight ADS, or AWR Microwave Office.
  • Hands-on experience with multimeters, oscilloscopes, signal generators, spectrum analyzers, RF test setups, and calibrations.
  • Experience with space RF electronics, including phenomena such as multipaction, plus experience leading projects and small teams.
