Sr. Radio Frequency Hardware Engineer, DoorDash Air

Location: San Francisco, CA; in-person five days per week

Salary: $139,400–$205,000 USD per year, plus potential equity grants

What you will do

• Lead RF, mixed-signal, and mechanical solutions for unmanned platforms.
• Design RF hardware and wireless testbeds, and lead system-level verification and documentation.
• Analyze and mitigate EMI and desense using shielding, grounding, filtering, EMC probes, and layout reviews.
• Conduct laboratory and OTA testing, including sensitivity and coexistence evaluations across LTE, 5G NR, Wi-Fi, GNSS, and UWB.
• Run EM simulations with CST, HFSS, and ADS to guide design decisions.
• Mentor partner teams and communicate technical trade-offs to engineers and executives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, RF engineering, applied electromagnetics, or wireless systems.
• 6+ years of hands-on RF hardware design and testing experience for mass-produced consumer products.
• Strong RF fundamentals, including front-end design, desense analysis, and system-level optimization.
• Experience with high-speed interfaces such as MIPI CSI/DSI, PCIe, DDR, SDIO, and eMMC.
• Proficiency with oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, and other RF measurement equipment.
• Strong data analysis, technical writing, presentation, and root-cause analysis skills.
