Supply Chain Manager (Robotics)

What you will do

• Identify, evaluate, and onboard suppliers for motors, PCBs, injection-molded parts, CNC components, cameras, connectors, and cable assemblies
• Manage full procurement cycle including quotes, negotiations, agreements, and purchase orders
• Build and maintain should-cost models to drive cost reduction
• Coordinate manufacturing and ensure parts meet specifications and delivery timelines
• Develop supply chain readiness plans for scaling production from prototypes to volume runs
• Track supplier lead times, tooling timelines, and manage supplier performance and logistics
• Mitigate risks by identifying dependencies and developing dual-sourcing strategies
• Collaborate closely with engineering teams on sourcing input and make-vs-buy decisions

Requirements

• Location: Must be based in Palo Alto with on-site presence
• 5+ years experience in supply chain, procurement, or sourcing in hardware-intensive industries such as robotics, industrial automation, aerospace, or automotive
• Experience sourcing electromechanical components, PCBs, injection-molded parts, machined metals, cameras/sensors, and connectors
• Familiarity with manufacturing processes including injection molding, die-casting, MIM, CNC machining, and SMT assembly
• Strong negotiation skills with domestic and international suppliers
• Experience managing transition from prototype to volume production including tooling qualification and first-article inspection
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, 3D models, and technical specifications

Nice to have

• Experience working with Chinese, Japanese, or Korean suppliers and contract manufacturers
• Thrives in ambiguous, fast-paced startup environments
