Manufacturing Leader (Robotics)

Location: On-site at the Santa Clara, California headquarters; US work authorization required. A relocation stipend is available for candidates moving to Santa Clara from more than 50 miles away.

Salary: $235,000–$265,000 per year, plus equity and comprehensive benefits.

What you will do

• Lead the day-to-day manufacturing function and build an in-house production line.
• Own end-to-end build processes, including work instructions, fixtures, tooling, cycle time, yield, and throughput.
• Conduct DFM/A reviews with engineering and lead pilot builds, process validation, and production readiness for volume ramp.
• Establish manufacturing processes, inspection systems, defect tracking, root-cause analysis, CAPA, and production reporting.
• Build and manage manufacturing engineering, quality, and build technician teams.
• Evaluate in-house versus outsourced production decisions using production data and support supplier and vendor issues.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering or operations, including 3–5 years in a leadership role.
• Hands-on experience establishing or scaling an in-house production line for low-to-mid volume electromechanical or robotics products.
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing process development, DFM/A, and quality systems.
• Experience managing builds, resolving production issues, and collaborating with design, test, and supply chain teams.
• Demonstrated ability to build and mentor technical teams, with strong oral and written communication skills.
• Must have and maintain US work authorization; occasional travel is required.

Nice to have

• Experience with MES, SPC, or similar production tracking systems.
• Background in robotics or complex electromechanical hardware.
• Familiarity with CE, UL, ISO9001, or ISO13485 requirements and certifications.
• Experience evaluating contract manufacturers and making in-house versus outsourced production decisions.
• Advanced degree in engineering, operations, or a related field.
