Assembly Technician (Robotics)

What you will do

• Assemble mechanical subsystems and complete robot builds from mechanical drawings, BOMs, and work instructions.
• Weld, drill, grind, fit, deburr, and finish metal and composite parts to specification.
• Fabricate brackets, fixtures, and custom parts to support builds and repairs.
• Torque, fasten, and align components to tolerance, verifying fit before final assembly.
• Troubleshoot mechanical fit issues and communicate design or part problems to engineering.
• Maintain shop tools, organize build stations, and support field and bench testing.

Requirements

• Hands-on experience with welding, drilling, angle grinders, and general mechanical assembly.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings and follow BOMs and assembly instructions.
• High attention to detail and a strong understanding of fit, finish, and tolerance.
• Comfort working in an industrial, hardware-heavy environment and lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Reliability, proactivity, self-direction, and willingness to support varied shop tasks.

Nice to have

• Formal welding certification or trade school training.
• Experience in machining, fabrication, automotive, or heavy-equipment mechanics.
• Experience building or repairing robots, vehicles, or other complex mechanical systems.
