Engineering Technician (Robotics)

Location: On-site in the San Francisco Bay Area (San Mateo) or Boston (Somerville), United States

Salary: $26–$50 per hour, plus equity

What you will do

• Assemble mechanical components into fully functioning robotic systems.
• Perform basic electrical work, including wire routing, component connections, and connector installation.
• Read and execute build instructions accurately using hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment.
• Inspect and test assemblies for quality and functionality.
• Identify defects, misalignments, loose connections, and inconsistencies, escalating issues quickly.
• Collaborate with engineers and teammates to meet build timelines and improve assembly processes.

Requirements

• Hands-on experience with mechanical assembly or hardware builds.
• Exposure to basic electrical work, including wiring, connectors, or harnesses.
• Comfort using tools and working with physical systems.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to clean, precise work.
• Ability to follow structured processes while identifying opportunities to improve them.
• Reliability, consistency, and urgency in a fast-moving, build-heavy environment.
