MTS: Assembly Technician (Robotics)

Location: Cambridge, Massachusetts, United States; hands-on work with robotic hardware and shop tools.

What you will do

• Assemble, wire, inspect, and rework robotic and electromechanical subsystems according to drawings, work instructions, and quality standards.
• Support system integration, bring-up, functional testing, troubleshooting, and mechanical fit checks.
• Fabricate and route cable harnesses, install components, and perform mechanical adjustments.
• Document assembly and inspection results and maintain fixtures, tools, and build documentation.
• Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, and manufacturing teams to resolve build issues and improve quality and repeatability.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in robotics, electromechanical assembly, or manufacturing technician work.
• Hands-on experience with mechanical assembly, electrical wiring, soldering, cable or harness fabrication, and rework.
• Ability to use lab and shop tools, precision measurement equipment, and torque-controlled tools.
• Ability to read schematics, CAD drawings, work instructions, BOMs, and assembly documentation.
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced development environment.

Nice to have

• Experience assembling robotic systems, especially humanoid or manipulation robots.
• Experience with prototype builds, low-volume production, and transition to manufacturing.
