Staff Software Development Engineer in Test (AI Automation)

Salary: $208,200–$260,300 USD base pay per year, with potential bonus eligibility

What you will do

• Lead quality engineering strategy across PlayStation console, mobile, portal, hardware, and service ecosystems.
• Design and scale automation frameworks for UI, API, integration, telemetry, hardware, portal, and end-to-end testing.
• Define enterprise automation standards, CI/CD quality gates, testing strategies, quality metrics, and release risk indicators.
• Lead initiatives to improve automation stability, reduce flakiness, modernize infrastructure, and orchestrate cloud and device labs.
• Drive AI-assisted testing R&D covering test generation, failure analysis, coverage improvements, and defect investigation.
• Mentor SDETs and quality engineers while partnering with Engineering, Product, Program Management, and QE leadership.

Requirements

• BS/MS degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years of experience in SDET, automation engineering, or quality engineering roles.
• Experience leading large-scale mobile quality engineering initiatives and designing automation across multiple testing layers.
• Strong programming or scripting skills in Python, JavaScript, or similar languages.
• Expertise with Playwright, Pytest, Appium, Selenium, Git, Jenkins, Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud or device lab solutions.
• Experience with AI-assisted testing, test strategy, release quality planning, risk management, troubleshooting, mentoring, and cross-functional technical leadership.
