Senior Software Development Engineer Test (SDET) (AI)

Salary: $175,000–$205,000 annual base salary plus annual bonus for San Francisco residents

What you will do

• Build comprehensive test strategies for infrastructure changes and releases.
• Develop and enhance stable, efficient test automation frameworks, tools, and solutions.
• Design and execute functional, compliance, legal, API, UI, end-to-end, load, and performance testing.
• Use AI technologies, including agentic automation, MCPs, and RAG applications, to augment testing and validation.
• Identify requirement gaps, design failure modes, analyze test coverage, and support technical issue diagnosis.
• Collaborate with product, design, information security, business, quality engineering, and development teams to resolve root-cause defects.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or five years of software engineering experience.
• 5–10 years of software testing experience.
• Experience in fintech, trading, or financial services, including quality efforts for internet applications.
• Experience with UI, API, and other test automation.
• Experience enhancing automation frameworks such as Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, or K6.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and fluency with AI technologies for testing and validation.

Nice to have

• Experience with E2E automation, contract testing, API automation, load testing, and performance testing.
• Experience mentoring other quality engineers.
• Experience at high-growth, venture-backed startups.
• Proven teamwork and delivery track record.
