Location: Santa Clara, CA or remote within the United States; remote employees must travel to the Santa Clara headquarters twice per quarter, and the first two weeks of onboarding are in person at headquarters. Applicants must meet the definition of a U.S. person under applicable export control laws.
Salary: $78,000–$200,000 annually, depending on experience.

What you will do
- Own design and fabrication oversight for the advanced reactor fuel handling system.
- Develop technical specifications, statements of work, and drawing packages for refueling equipment suppliers.
- Manage vendor design development, deliverables, budgets, schedules, and compliance with applicable codes and standards.
- Review process and instrumentation diagrams, technical specifications, analyses, calculations, and design drawings.
- Work with fabricators to manage deviation requests and detailed non-conformance reports, including impacts and potential resolutions.
- Prepare installation procedures, system descriptions, design reviews, presentations, and technical status updates.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, aerospace, nuclear, civil, or related engineering.
- 3–5 years of relevant technical or project management experience designing and manufacturing complex structures and integrated systems.
- Experience collaborating across analysis, manufacturing, systems engineering, and external supplier teams.
- Experience managing design-build and build-to-print contracts and using project management tools.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including technical documentation and presentations.
- Familiarity with design and fabrication drawings and working with external manufacturers or engineering consultants.
Nice to have
- Experience with large structural weldments, mechanical joints, large-scale fabrication, precision machining, metrology, and tolerance studies.
- Background in nuclear, aerospace, defense, heavy industry, or other high-integrity and safety-critical systems.
- Experience leading hardware projects from concept and design through testing and production.
- Knowledge of thermal-mechanical analysis, high-temperature design, nuclear fission, and radiation effects on materials.
- Familiarity with U.S. design codes, standards, and regulatory requirements.
