Supervisor, Refueling & Remote Handling

hirify.global develops and operates engineering activities for the NuScale reactor module and its refueling systems.

What you will do

• Supervise engineers responsible for refueling and remote handling systems.
• Develop engineering deliverables, material handling processes, and project work breakdown structures for remote reactor refueling.
• Design and analyze equipment for underwater and potentially radioactive environments.
• Integrate hydraulic, mechanical, electrical, automation, and control technologies into remote tooling.
• Coordinate interfaces with NSSS design, reactor building design, plant operations, regulatory affairs, quality assurance, and external design organizations.
• Lead technical decisions, personnel development, performance reviews, and cross-functional projects.

Requirements

• B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering or a directly related engineering field.
• At least five years of experience managing complex refueling, remote handling, product development, or large nuclear projects.
• Experience designing and developing manufacturing processes for complex handling equipment used with large critical components and tight tolerances.
• Prior supervisory experience.
• Must be eligible to work under Department of Energy 10 CFR Part 810.
• Knowledge of quality assurance requirements including 10 CFR 50 Appendix B, 10 CFR 21, and NQA-1.

Nice to have

• Professional Engineer license registration or an advanced degree.
• Experience with remote, underwater, or automated applications.
