Staff Software Engineer (Fintech)

Location: Remote within the United States. Candidates must be eligible to work in the US for full-time employment; employment sponsorship is not available.

Salary: $150,000–$175,000 per year

What you will do

• Lead the design, development, debugging, and maintenance of scalable full-stack web applications, with approximately 60% backend and 40% frontend work.
• Build and maintain data pipelines that transform incoming data into Kafka streams and KeyLife Indicators.
• Lead code reviews, architectural discussions, development standards, and technical planning.
• Design API-first services and reusable code and libraries while improving legacy applications and development tools.
• Monitor production systems, handle on-call escalations, troubleshoot critical incidents, and improve system reliability and performance.
• Mentor junior engineers and collaborate with engineering, product, design, system administration, customers, and vendors.

Requirements

• 12–13 years of related software development experience, or 10 years with an advanced degree, plus a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• Strong experience with an object-oriented language such as Java or Kotlin and full-stack development.
• Experience with modern JavaScript frameworks, including Vue.js, React, Angular, and Tailwind CSS.
• Experience with Spring Boot, Hibernate, RESTful APIs, AWS, Kubernetes, Kafka, SQL and NoSQL databases, caching, and cloud-native infrastructure.
• Advanced skills in system performance optimization, monitoring, production support, and unit, integration, and UI automation testing.
• Ability to work remotely from the US, participate in an on-call rotation, and maintain US work authorization without sponsorship.

Nice to have

• Master's degree in engineering, technology, or a related field.
• Experience with SaaS products in the technology and financial industries.
• Experience with Maven, Kotlin, and Vue.js.
