Technical Autonomous Fleet Manager (Robotics)

Location: Various US sites; remote work with heavy travel to active solar construction sites

What you will do

• Deploy, monitor, and maintain autonomous construction robot fleets on utility-scale solar sites.
• Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and software issues to maximize fleet uptime.
• Interact with machines daily, calibrate sensors, swap components, and perform corrective repairs in outdoor environments.
• Capture and analyze field data, hardware anomalies, edge cases, and performance bottlenecks for R&D and hardware engineering teams.
• Manage preventive maintenance, fleet logistics, deployment staging, charging or fueling infrastructure, and spare-parts inventory.
• Track utilization and task completion rates while developing operational playbooks for busy construction sites.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Robotics, Systems Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent hands-on experience with complex mechanical or heavy-equipment fleets.
• Experience in fleet management, technical field operations, or hardware testing and deployment.
• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills, including hands-on work with physical machines in outdoor construction environments.
• Ability to work independently as the sole technical expert on site and make rapid troubleshooting decisions.
• Strong technical communication skills for describing complex mechanical failures to off-site software and hardware engineers.
• Willingness to travel extensively to active solar construction sites in the United States.

Nice to have

• Experience managing or scaling autonomous fleets such as self-driving vehicles, autonomous delivery robots, or agricultural and mining robotics.
• Hands-on experience with sophisticated technology-enabled heavy construction equipment, pile-driving machines, or automated trenching systems.
• Experience establishing field maintenance programs or using fleet-management software and telemetry dashboards.
