TL;DR
Robotics Maintenance & Field Service Technician II / III (Robotics): Deploying, maintaining, repairing, and upgrading autonomous robotic systems at customer facilities with an accent on electromechanical troubleshooting, field operations, and customer support. Focus on diagnosing mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, controls, and networking issues, supporting root-cause investigations, and improving fleet reliability through collaboration with Engineering.

Location: Watertown, MA; hybrid workplace with approximately 75% travel throughout the United States.

What you will do

  • Deploy robotic systems at customer sites, including installation, commissioning, validation, and handoff.
  • Perform preventive maintenance, repairs, upgrades, retrofits, and field modifications on autonomous robots.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, controls, and networking-related issues.
  • Support customer ramp-up, operational readiness, uptime, reliability, and performance.
  • Document failures, collect field data, and support root-cause investigations.
  • Partner with Engineering on product reliability, serviceability, validation, maintenance procedures, and troubleshooting standards.

Requirements

  • Experience troubleshooting, repairing, building, maintaining, or deploying electromechanical systems.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to diagnose electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and controls-related issues.
  • Experience with motors, sensors, actuators, drives, pneumatics, conveyors, robotics, industrial automation, CNC equipment, AGVs, AMRs, or similar systems.
  • Ability to read electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and technical documentation and use hand tools, power tools, multimeters, and diagnostic equipment.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel extensively throughout the United States.

Nice to have

  • Robotics, automation, field service, PLC troubleshooting, networking, Linux, or ROS experience.
  • Startup or high-growth company experience and military technical background.
  • Fabrication, machining, welding, or 3D printing experience.
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Robotics, Mechatronics, Electronics, Industrial Technology, or a related field.
