FPGA Design Engineer (FPGA)

Location: Sunnyvale, California, United States; hybrid work

Salary: $160,000–$210,000 per year, plus bonus, equity, and benefits

What you will do

• Design, simulate, implement, test, and verify FPGA digital logic for high-data-rate communications and precision line-of-sight tracking systems.
• Collaborate on digital signal processing and control-system algorithms for wireless optical communications.
• Implement custom RTL modules, develop test benches, run simulations, and verify design requirements.
• Integrate third-party IP cores, create RTL wrappers, and coordinate with IP vendors.
• Support board bring-up, system-level integration, troubleshooting, and field testing.
• Improve FPGA design processes, infrastructure, and products while staying current with FPGA technologies and best practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering or a similar discipline.
• 3+ years of experience in FPGA or digital logic design, including custom RTL implementation and testing with SystemVerilog or Verilog.
• Experience with FPGA design flows, including simulation, synthesis, and static timing analysis.
• Experience with FPGA high-speed interfaces.
• Hands-on experience with oscilloscopes and hardware debugging.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, communication, and teamwork skills.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree or higher in Computer Engineering or a related field.
• Experience with AMD UltraScale or UltraScale+ FPGAs/SoCs.
• Experience with embedded C/C++, Python, Tcl, Simulink, or High-Level Synthesis.
• Experience implementing RTL blocks for high-speed communications, image processing, or real-time tracking systems.
